The Google Play Store redesign is reportedly starting to roll out to compatible Wear OS smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5. The redesign was unveiled earlier at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event, where Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Watch 5 Pro. The information was also released in the September Google Play System Update patch notes. The first thing you’ll notice with the new Wear OS Play Store update is that the search button is now inside a pill instead of a circle. The Explore All section now shows three apps, followed by a See More button. In both sections, you’ll see app names and icons, along with their Play Store ratings, which will help you quickly decide whether the app is worth your time or not.

The Wear OS Play Store redesign is rolling out as a server update

Big cards for Watch Faces, Stream Music, Essential Clock Apps, and Healthy Mind & Body follow the Recommended for You and Now Trending sections. The last section is “browse and install apps from your other devices” which does the same as mentioned. The only downside to this refresh is that the Manage Apps and Settings options are right at the bottom of the page. The current design, as noted by 9To5Google, is “very text heavy and boring,” which is true. The new design adds a little flair that will encourage users to download and try apps and also stimulate developer interest. The new redesign is released with Google Play for Wear OS version 31.2.10-26. Please note that this is a server update and you will have to wait your turn for it to be visible on your Wear OS watch.
