There are several armed suspects on the loose in the area, who may be in a mid-2000s dark red Mustang, according to RCMP. From 1:30 p.m. CT, the dangerous person alert has been extended countywide as the suspects gain access to a vehicle. RCMP say they do not currently believe the incident at Witchekan Lake First Nation is connected to a series of fatal stabbings on the James Smith Cree Nation and in Weldon, Sask. RCMP are telling people in Witchekan Lake First Nation to seek immediate shelter and shelter in place, not to leave a safe location and to be careful when allowing others into their homes. They say don’t approach suspicious people or pick up hitchhikers and don’t report any information to the police.
