UPDATE: 3 p.m Traffic is moving slowly after a crash on the Okanagan Connector. On September 5, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment and the BC Highway Patrol attended the scene of the accident in Peachland. “Multiple people were involved in the accident, but fortunately no one was injured,” said Corporal Judith Bertrand, Media Relations Officer for the West Kelowna RCMP. The causes of the accident are still under investigation. Officers are working to reopen all lanes of traffic on Hwy 97C. Traffic is currently open in both directions, but delays are expected heading towards West Kelowna. ORIGINAL 2:24 p.m Traffic is backed up along the Okanagan Connector in Peachland after a car collided with a boat. A driver in the area tells Castanet the crash happened just after 2 p.m The resident says no one appears to have been injured in the collision. The vessel is blocking the through lane heading towards West Kelowna. According to information, emergency crews are heading to the scene.
