After a slow start, the Tigers finally found a spark in the second quarter in the form of a block that put the offense on the Yellow Jackets’ 5-yard line. Four plays later, Will Shipley punched it in from a yard out to put his team on the board. Clemson then scored a touchdown on its next possession in more traditional fashion thanks to an eight-play, 67-yard drive — by far the team’s best of the first half. That was capped off by a DJ Uiagalelei touchdown to Beaux Collins from six yards out. Although Georgia Tech hasn’t matched Clemson on the scoreboard, the Yellow Jackets’ offense found some success moving the ball in the second quarter, and Jude Kelley’s 45-yard field goal gave his team at least a few points before halftime. . Overall, Clemson’s defense was the story in this one. The Tigers have five tackles for losses and have allowed just one first down on eight third-down attempts.
