Photos posted online show the SUV on a curb at the intersection with front-end damage and a Saanich police vehicle nearby with damage to the driver’s side front wheel. Saanich Police say Blanshard Street (South) at Ravine Way is closed due to the incident. Traffic is being diverted onto Pat Bay Highway and McKenzie Avenue. Staff Seargent Andy Stuart with Saanich Police tells CHEK News the road is expected to be closed for two to three hours. Stewart says the cause has yet to be determined and crash repair specialists are on scene. No one was injured in the crash, according to Stuart. Rob Charlton tells CHEK News he was at the Tim Hortons and heard the sirens, then a big crash when the two vehicles collided. He says he spoke with the woman driving the SUV, who said she didn’t hear the sirens. She told him she was wondering why they were stopping people and then continued through the intersection as she had a green light. Charlton says there were no passengers in the SUV, just the driver. This is a developing story. More details will be provided when they become available. Photos courtesy: Rob Charlton
