Construction at the Come By Chance refinery has been halted for a week following a fire last Friday that injured eight workers. In a statement released Monday night, Braya Renewable Fuels says construction at the facility has been halted until at least September 12 while an investigation into the incident is ongoing. They say the resumption of work will be reassessed by them and Occupational Health and Safety next week and are starting a plan to safely return to construction activities while the stop work order is in place. Braya says two workers have now been released from hospital, with six more to be admitted. CEO Frank Almaraz says their priority is supporting employees and their families as they recover and learn from the incident, noting that they have trauma counseling and support for anyone who needs it.
