Apple is set to kick off the event at 10:00 AM. PT (10:30 PM IST) at the company’s headquarters and like the previous two years, the program will be streamed online. It will be available on the company’s official website and YouTube channel. However, reports are coming in from the west that a select few members of the media have received invitations to attend the event in person and also gain access to the demo zone immediately after the program. Apple is set to bring four new models in the iPhone 14 series. However, this year, the company is expected to ditch the ‘iPhone mini’ and instead bring a larger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus. The latter was initially rumored to be called the iPhone 14 Max, but was dropped to avoid confusion with the ultra-high-end Pro Max model. Apple will bring these models – a regular iPhone 14 (6.1 inches), 14 Plus (6.7 inches), iPhone 14 Pro (6.1 inches) and iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7 inches). It should be noted that the company plans to expand the differentiation of regular and Pro models this year. The standard iPhone 14 and 14 Plus will have regular OLED display panels, while the Pro models will have premium OLED displays to support the Always-on-Display feature. Also, the Pro models are expected to come with big 48MP camera upgrades along with a new pill display panel with a reduced notch design. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 and 14 Max will have dual cameras and regular notch design as seen in the previous generation. There are also speculations that the regular iPhone 14 and 14 Plus may come with an older A15 Bionic chipset seen in the iPhone 13, and the Pro models will be powered by the latest and most powerful Apple silicon A16 Bionic. The Watch Series 8 Pro last will have a large titanium case and the regular one will have an aluminum case. The Pro model will have longer battery life. Both models of the Watch 8 series will come with two new features: a body temperature sensor and a health tracker related to women’s fertility. Other standard features coming to upcoming Apple watches include ECG (Electrocardiogram), heart rate monitoring, blood-oxygen saturation monitoring, and activity rings. On the other hand, the Watch SE (2nd Gen) will see upgrades in terms of the Apple S8 chipset, more efficient compared to the S5 seen in the 2020 model.
