Comment Flood watch for much of the DC area by Tuesday afternoon Update 7:15am: Areas of moderate to heavy rain continue to move into the area this morning, apart from drier with mainly light showers in our southern suburbs. Watch for the possibility of flooding anywhere, but the greatest threat right now is in the western two-thirds of Montgomery County, eastern Frederick County, western Carroll County and northwestern Howard County where a flash flood warning is in effect until 11:30 a.m. due to rainfall from 1 to 1.5 inches per hour. ⚠️A flash flood warning is in effect for much of Montgomery County until 11:30 AM. 🚧If you are approaching a flooded or blocked road, turn around and go the other way. It is never safe to drive or walk through flooded areas. Turn around, don’t drown. ➡️ pic.twitter.com/HbDbRXuvPX — Montgomery Co OEMHS (@ReadyMontgomery) September 6, 2022 A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10. 5/10: Dark skies with areas of heavy rain and a risk of flooding for the morning commute, improving from the afternoon

The weekend looks to start on the brighter side, but the risk of showers may return by Sunday. Confidence: Low-Medium Friday it finally has sunny skies and lower humidity as highs reach the mid to upper 80s. Mostly clear Friday night with lows again in the lower to mid 60s. Confidence: Moderate The weekend only promises us a better day so far, with saturday looking mostly sunny with comfortable low to mid 80s and relatively lower humidity again. Clouds may increase a bit Saturday night with lows in the 60s. Sunday could be a nicer story, but for now an approaching weather system offers a partly sunny morning, mostly cloudy afternoon and a chance of afternoon to evening showers as highs reach the 80s.
