At least five people died and another was rushed to hospital after a car accident shortly after 8pm on Tuesday. The Nissan Navara reportedly lost control and crashed into a tree on East Parade, Buxton, a town of about 1000, near Picton, 100km south-west of Sydney. The 18-year-old car driver survived. His injuries are said to be non-life threatening. All the dead are reported to be adults.
