Chris Kaba, who was in his 20s, died in hospital in the early hours of Tuesday after being shot at around 10pm in Kirkstall Gardens in Streatham Hill. Metropolitan Police officers said they used a tactic where they deliberately crashed into a car in an attempt to end the pursuit on the residential street. Local residents reported hearing gunshots and a police helicopter hovering overhead. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), the police watchdog, said it had launched an independent investigation just before midnight, as it usually does after a police shooting, and investigators were dispatched to the scene.
