The Canadian singer revealed in June that he had been diagnosed with a rare condition called Ramsay Hunt syndrome which resulted in complete paralysis of the right side of his face, forcing him to cancel his shows. Writing on Instagram, Bieber, 28, said he had returned to the stage but had performed six live shows since his diagnosis “hurt me”. He said: “Last weekend, I performed at Rock in Rio and gave everything I had to the world in Brazil.” But the exhaustion “got over him,” he added, and after talking with his doctors, family and team, he decided to prioritize his health over his work. “I’m going to take a break from touring for now,” the music star explained. “I’ll be fine, but I need time to rest and get better. I was so proud to bring this show and our message of justice to the world.” Image: Photo: @justinbieber/Instagram He thanked fans for their support and ended his message by saying, “I love you all with a passion!” The star did not say when he would return. The NHS says it is caused by a virus in the facial nerve. Possible symptoms include blisters on the ears and roof of the mouth, as well as facial weakness. It can be treated with steroids, antiviral drugs and facial reconstruction.
