Speaking in an interview with MailOnline, the media personality, 44, recalled the terrifying ordeal that saw her held at gunpoint while filming Quest Red’s reality show, My Crazy Life with ITV. She described the traumatic events that led to her breaking point and seeking treatment for PTSD, in a candid discussion about mental illness.
Horrifying: Katie Price revealed she was raped during terrifying carjacking in South Africa in 2018 as she speaks ahead of her terrifying documentary Trauma And Me Ahead of the Channel 4 programme, which was filmed during last year’s car crash, Katie spoke about her triggers and suffering before the accident. He said: “The experience when I was filming with ITV in South Africa, we didn’t have security, if we had security they could have dealt with the six guys who jumped us, held me at gunpoint and raped me.” Katie was thrown from the vehicle by the assailants, during her journey from Johannesburg to Swaziland with two transport people with the production crew.

Katie first discussed her terrifying experience during a 2020 episode of Channel 4’s SAS: Celebrity Who Dares Wins, where she said: “The police said it was a miracle they didn’t kill us.” Her stay at The Priory rehab clinic was for treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, as she added that through treatment she has learned to face her past and recognize what triggers it. Katie commented: “It’s opened my eyes a lot. When you go to The Priory, people assume it must be for drinks or drugs. I have never been to The Priory for drink, drugs or addiction. I found myself in the trauma recovery clinic for PTSD. There’s a stigma that if you go to The Priory, you’re wrong ‘un [one], but this is not true. I think people who go in there are brave because they face their demons and whatever their problems are to become better people. “Mental health doesn’t matter how big or small it seems, if it’s big to someone, then it’s big to them. It’s just different. Anything can happen.’ Speaking about the dark place she experienced with her mental health during her horrific drinking accident last year, Katie explained: ‘I live in the countryside, I had no way out, I needed to talk to someone and that night I let myself down .’ He added: “I think the people who go in there are brave because they face their demons and whatever their problems are to become better people.” “I’m not justifying anything, there was a reason why I got in the car and why my head was like that. “Unfortunately, I entered this place. I would never enter this place again. It happened and it’s real, but I’ve learned.’ The former glamor model, who still goes to therapy, said: “I might be 44 now and have therapy every week but I wish I had done it years ago. It would have stopped a lot of things I could have said or reacted to. “I have to accept [certain situations] and not bite anything anymore. “It’s hard for me to say because I don’t want to sound bitter and I’m not bitter. I’m talking to my therapist now about my conditions.” I learn: The former glamor model, who still goes to therapy, said: “I might be 44 now and have therapy every week, but I wish I had done it years ago.” As she deals with PTSD and her past, Katie continued, “I feel like I have to protect myself. I don’t post anything on Instagram anymore. I don’t have to justify myself anymore. I owe nothing to anyone. “I don’t go on Instagram anymore and I’m like, ‘Well, this is wrong,’ it goes through my mind, and then I count down, and by the time I’m at zero, I’m like, ‘Oh, forget it.’ “I feel better and I feel stronger for it. I don’t need to fix or prove anything to anyone. I know the truth. I’ve grown up!’ In her latest documentary, Katie discusses what caused her mental health to deteriorate and the steps she is taking to recover. “There’s a lot in the program but there’s a lot I haven’t put in there, it’s only 45 minutes but it’s enough to know I suffered,” he said.
