Officials told CTV News that a hiker was on Big Sister Mountain on Sept. 4 around 4 p.m. when he slipped and fell about 100 meters. Personnel from the Kananaskis County Public Safety Team responded to the scene and airlifted the injured hiker out of the area. “Despite the efforts of first responders, the hiker succumbed to his injuries while being transported to emergency medical services,” Bridget Burgess, communications consultant with Alberta Environment and Parks, said in an email to CTV News. The victim has not been identified.
