A 34-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder on Sunday and is being questioned by police. A 34-year-old from Liverpool, a 41-year-old from Knowsley and a 29-year-old from Liverpool were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All four were released on conditional bail. Olivia was shot at her home when a gunman chased convicted burglar Joseph Nee into the property in Dovecot at around 10pm on Monday 22 August. An autopsy determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest. Merseyside Police said: “The investigation into Olivia’s tragic murder is ongoing and we still need to build a strong body of evidence so we can bring those responsible to justice.” On Tuesday, Olivia’s mother Cheryl Korbel made her first public remarks since her daughter’s murder and broke down in tears as she paid tribute to her “little shadow”. Use Chrome browser for more accessible video player 2:12 Olivia’s mom: “I’ll keep going for Liv” He described how Olivia would never stop talking and said: “That’s what I miss the most, because I can’t hear her talk.” And she said the family were planning days out and a trip to buy Olivia’s new school uniform before she died. “I will continue, for Liv” Wearing a bandage on her wrist after being injured in the shooting, Ms Korbel said she hoped whoever was responsible for the killing would come forward. “You know you’ve made a mistake, so you have to own it,” the 46-year-old said. “As I’ve taught my kids, you do something wrong, you make it. “If someone is hiding these weapons they need to speak up because they need to be off these streets. She went everywhere with me,” Ms. Korbel added. “Everyone she met, everyone fell in love with her. She left a mark on everyone she met.” “She may well have only been nine, but she packed a lot in those nine years. She never, ever stopped talking – and that’s what I miss the most because I can’t hear her talk. “We organized days out, we were on summer vacation. We took Liv swimming. “We went to Blackpool, just me and Liv. We were talking about getting a new uniform for school, but I didn’t get that chance to get a new uniform. “But I’ll keep going, for Liv.”
