Newfoundland and Labrador reports five new deaths due to COVID-19 in the past week.
However, there has been a significant reduction in the number of hospitalizations due to COVID.
Three people are currently in hospital with no one in intensive care. That’s down from last week, when 11 were in hospital and two in intensive care.
The number of confirmed cases has also dropped significantly. 152 new cases were recorded in the last week, up from 330 reported at the last update.
It should be noted that these numbers represent only laboratory-confirmed cases of those eligible for testing and do not necessarily represent the true prevalence of COVID in the community.
